Update With Thanksgiving

Hello, Everyone. I just want to thank you for your prayers, they meant so much.
And I felt so at ease after reading everyone's comforting comments.
Andy did fine in the testing. He had to drink 10 ounces instead of four,
and he said it wasn't bad.. The last finger stick , it was down to 90. He wasn't given a
prescription or monitor yet. And he'll have to find another DR. coz this one is closing his
practice. So we're hoping he can find one here or someone close by that takes Medi-
care patients. There was a patient in the office from Florence, so now I'm wondering
and doubting if there is one here. Florence is a bigger  town than ours so I was surprised
that the lady had to come to Decatur for her Diabetes, maybe because he is a specialist
for Diabetes and Lipids. I don't know Andy's numbers but they aren't good and his cho-
lesterol Meds were changed.
When we got home, Kassey had left a little puddle of puke on the couch. Thank good-
ness I cover it with a sheet, doesn't look good but the furniture is protected. She is now on
her pillow by the window with no sunpuddle.

It's partly cloudy and breezy and about 71. I wish you all sunny skies and warm weather.
Thanks again for your prayers and may you all be blessed.

Worried Wednesday

It's so difficult not to worry especially when our children are having
health issues. It's Andy again who needs prayer. He has been diag-
nosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I never knew anything about this and
still know little about it. His body is holding onto the sugar and won't
release it, not even through the kidneys. He hasn't been well for some
time now and mostly just laying around the house.

Tomorrow, Thursday, he will have the test which scares me. I don't
understand the reasoning behind it. He will drink about 4 ounces of
glucose and it could result in coma or death.

He has no appetite and had not eaten all day the afternoon he had
blood work for this. His Glucose 136 (normal 70-100)
His Insulin was 26.5 (normal 2.9 - 10.1)
       C-Peptide 5.5   (normal  0.8-3.1)
       AST ( SGOT )   13  ( normal  0.8-  3.1

I hope someone can enlighten me on this disease. He told me that his
Dad has this as well so I wonder if it's hereditary. My first thought was
that one of his medications is too blame.
I will post as I know the results of this test.

I sure need the sunshine today, don't we all. I hope you all have sunshine
today and most Blessed.

I Was Mean To Andy.....Kassey

Mom said it was Wednesday when Andy and Sheila came by
after her MRI. Mom had come in my room and told me they
were coming by. But I didn't move from my bed. I didn't care
but ,when I heard the front door open, I jumped down and went
to the living-room. I met them at the door and Andy swooped
me up and was loving on me against my will. I growled at him and
Mom told him not to let me put a bitey on him. He sat on the couch
holding me and then turned me loose. I showed my displeasure as I
hissed at him. I then sat in front of the TV and just looked at him. He
told Mom that he bet he could pick me up again. As he came towards
me, I took off running to the safety of Mom's bedroom..There are more
places to hide in there, like under the bed where no human can reach me.
Freezing water was falling from the sky so they didn't stay long. Next time,
I'll try to be good to Andy. I just needed a nap more than company. Mom
says I'm spoiled. Well maybe, but I am the cat.

A Ray Of Sunshine Of Hope For Andy

We do have sunshine here and a nice temp of 64 at the present.
Many of you from Spaces know about my son, Andy's  Chiari
Syndrome and the awful migraines that he has.
Recently, he started going back to his Doctor in Birmingham, AL, who
discovered his condition. He told Andy there was a new procedure
being done in PA to stop the pain by disabling the nerve that causes
the pain. As he has suffered so, this gives him hope and his family
too. However, we know this is very tedious and risky. He has had
a part of his scull removed above the cervical spine. This was done
to cut some cervical bones to give more room for the 'tonsil', pro-
truding from his brain into the spinal column. This procedure did not
stop the headaches.
As I receive updates as to whether Andy has this procedure, I will
post it here, God-willing.

Blessings Always, Ann

New Chain To Yank...Kassey

August 01, 2010
New Chain To Yank...Kassey
She put a new thingy in our bedroom. It has two shiny
long things and it's hooked up to the small TV.
Andy hooked it up so he could watch 'wrestling',
whatever that is. I just listen and pass this info
on.Andy was working on Mom's big toy. I heard
her say he was washing it clean. When she has a
problem, Andy comes to her rescue. But, I don't
mind sharing her , cuz he plays with me.Well, as
you know, now I use this to get what I want. She
caught me at least twice bothering the wire. She
usually figures it out, but sometimes she's sooo
slow.. Last night, she knew I was still upset with
her as I was lying in the floor instead of on my pillow.
She said,'Oh, I bet you need a new pillow case."
Yes, she guessed right and I got on my pillow,
waiting for lights out. I'll keep using this new wire
to control Mom, I just have to...Meow for now.

Blessings Always, Kassey
