Sneaky Credit Card Companies Rant

I won't mention the Name, but I sure would like to. I always pay
my bill  in full every month no matter what the total is. When I got
my bill for this month, they had given me a 'Promo Adjustment',
removing an amount that I paid last month, with ' deferred payment',
with 'deferred interest charges, $1.60. And I've got until 12/11/11
to pay it. I've been wondering when they might try to screw me. I
have watched my bill every month for hidden charges or even bogus
charges such as this.

Do they actually expect people to overlook this kind of thing? I'm long
in the tooth, but thank God, my mind is still sharp.

Steve, the guy I talked to was very kind and I told him that because of this,
when I'm sure that everything is in and paid, I will get rid of this Credit
card. He told me before I do that, to get my rewards amount and he
gave me the number to call. According to him, it should be about $80.
Well now, if this true, good for me. But I am still chucking them. I also
told him that I did not ask for a 'Promo Adjustment'.

I heard just recently that they are closing some of their stores. I say 'Good'.
hint hint

  1. Wow, now that is dirty. I'm glad you caught this.

  2. Great day in the morning! Thievery! Oh yes, our mom says she'd pay it off (minus that surprise charge) and then cancel the card for good! It's a smart thing that you watch those bills. Tango and Ruby have a very smart mom :D

  3. Well, since our sears store is closing here I think I have figured it out. Good idea canceling the card.

  4. Is there any thing these guys wouldn't stoop to to get an extra quid, or in your case a dollar, from your pocket, but they picked the wrong one didn't they ? Take your credits and dump them, I have nothing to do with credit cards, liking to pay as I go., Thieving poxers.

  5. That is dirty dirty pool! GOOD on you catching it.

  6. I don't like when credit companies do something like that! It is not the matter of amount they charge, but the fact that they try to trick us. I'm glad you caught it.
Thank you for your comment about the award. When I got one, I though about you as well but another friend posted before I do! I laughed and laughed when I read Kassey's 7 things. She is such a manipulative...I mean, smart girl!

  7. Booooooo to nasty credit card companies that try to pull the wool over our eyes!!!!

    xo Catherine

  8. Sharp minds are needed to deal with this kind of garbage. My dad absolutely is a terminator when it comes to junk like that and if you try to put one over on him...I almost pity you! Glad you caught them!

  9. I here too They were hungry for money and they don't care we lived or died.
But lots of younger people are to use nasty credit card and in end trapped themselves.

I'm glad you caught the thief!

  10. I closed out a card too when they jumped my interest from 8 to 24 percent before the new laws took effect. I too had never been late and had been a loyal customer for 20 years. I wasn't a bit afraid to name them online when I did it. I guess I felt if they treat people like that then consumers should know how they run their business. So A T & T Universal Card and I parted ways.

  11. Gosh i wonder how many other people have been stung like that but are too frightened or too stupid to do anything about it ....good for you you stuck up for you well done i wonder if there will be a charge for your $80 i bet there is

  12. Hi, Lo, if there is a charge for the rewards thing, I'll tell them straight where to cram it.

  13. Terry, I truly dispise AT&T, outlaws.

  14. Oh yea, they sure can be a sneaky bunch, great catch!

  15. What a sneaky lot ,I got rid of my credit card last year and I'm glad I did.

Kassey and I thank you all for your kind comments.
